What Does It Mean to Choose Your Mindset?

Choosing your mindset isn’t about positive thinking or pushing through. It’s the ability to recognize you have options—even when circumstances feel complex, high-stakes, or unfamiliar.

Mindset, as I define it, is:

  • Cognitive framing — the story you tell yourself about what’s happening
  • Perspective — your ability to zoom out and see the bigger picture
  • Pattern awareness — noticing what you default to when you feel pressure
  • Choice under pressure — responding with intention instead of reacting on autopilot

Choice Changes Everything.

At every stage of leadership and career growth, there is more choice than it often feels like.

Choice in how you interpret a situation.
Choice in how you respond.
Choice in what you prioritize.
Choice in how you communicate.

When you can see your choices clearly, you lead differently. You communicate differently. You move forward with strength.

How We Work With Choice

I don’t offer quick answers or surface-level advice. I listen deeply, reflect patterns clearly, and create space for you to see your situation—and yourself—from a higher vantage point.

Together, we:

  • Identify limiting patterns and narratives
  • Strengthen decision-making when it matters most
  • Clarify what truly matters right now
  • Shift reactive habits into intentional leadership
  • Translate clarity into communication that brings others along

Because growth isn’t just what you know—it’s how you choose to show up.

That’s the foundation of this work.

About Me

Jessica Boss

Accredited and Credentialed Professional Coach

CPCC / ACC

After building a successful career across sales, marketing, leadership, and strategy in biopharma over the past 20 years, I reached a moment. Like a lot of us, I felt so busy and full in the day to day, yet unclear in the big picture and thought, “What is really next for me?” With the support of my mentors and my husband, I made the brave (yet scary!) decision to hit pause on a thriving and upward career and connected back to my “why” and what brings me the most joy. And across every role and position, I am consistently the most joyous and fulfilled when partnering closely with others to help unlock their power and authenticity. I’ve always been that person who friends and colleagues call when they need help thinking something through- making sense of their mindset and discovering new ways forward. Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to help guide and mentor so many others to find promotions, new career roles, develop stronger leadership and presentation skills, navigate difficult conversations, and find confidence in their voice and decisions.

Today, I bring this natural inclination together with formal coaching training and experience to support others navigating their own moments of growth and transition. As a Co-Active* certified coach, I use proven methods that help people examine the mindset shaping their decisions, see their choices more clearly, and move forward with greater intention in how they lead and communicate. It’s meaningful work, and I’m grateful to bring it forward with you.

Personally, I am also a mom of three young kids and a puppy who teach me to stay flexible, dynamic, and in a learning mindset always. I am an avid reader and lover of all types of music and connect deeply with the power of choice and intention. I bounce easily in conversation from topics involving intricate strategy and heavy data over to whimsical discussions around the lyrical and magical beauty of stories. I’m endlessly curious around the depth and complexity of human connection and I feel the most alive when I am driving with all the windows open, the music loud, and surrounded by those I love.

*The Co-Active training and certification program has been called the “gold standard” of coaching by the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate that has linked the four cornerstones of the Co-Active Model to evidence-based scientific research.
